2026 Youth Basketball - Winter 2026

Welcome to the King City Recreation Department Winter Basketball Program.  PLEASE READ!!!!

Program open to Boys and Girls, 3rd - 8th grade.  Boys teams and girls teams - ALL TEAMS are coached by the King City High School boys and girls basketball teams and coaches.  No practices during the week.  PROGRAM ONLY ON SATURDAYS!

All practices and games for the season are SATURDAYS ONLY - January 3, January 10, January 17, January 24, January 31 and February 7.

Saturday Schedule:

ALL GIRLS 8:30 - 10:00

3rd  - 5th grade boys 10 - 11:15

6th - 8th grade boys 11:15 - 12:30

Cost is $79 per player and includes jersey and shorts.  Regular registration will be held until November 1.  Sibling discounts available.  

Absolute LAST day to sign up is November 1.  No Late Registrations Will Be Accepted.

2026 Girls Softball - Spring 2026

Welcome to the King City Recreation Girl's  Softball Program. PLEASE READ THIS WHOLE THING!

Our league is REC SOFTBALL and not TRAVEL softball.  Everyone PLAYS.   It is about the girls - learning the game, having fun and making friends. This is a fun, skill building program for ALL abilities.

Age groups are 5 - 7, 8 - 10 and 11 - 14 years of age as of August 31, 2025.  Please register where your child belongs for their age.  WE WILL MOVE UP after tryouts, if necessary.  Tryouts held mid-February.  Games will start in March and games will be within an hour travel area.  Under 8 will only travel to Soledad/Gonzales/Greenfield.  Cost is $100 per child.  Sibling discounts available.

Holiday 2025 Paint Class 11/12 - Winter 2025

Kick off the holiday season and join the King City Recreation Department for an Adult Paint Night on Wednesday, November 12 at 5:30. Doors open at 5 and painting starts at 5:30 sharp!  16 years and over, please!

Local artist Corali Ramirez will guide you through the featured painting, step by step!  No experience needed and all of the supplies are included. 

$40 includes painting supplies and instruction.  You're welcome to bring your own snacks and beverages! 

 Register early, as only 30 can be accommodated. Last day to register is November 7!

2025 Trunk Registration - Fall 2025

On Friday, October 31, 2025, the King City Recreation Department will hold our 8th Annual Trunk or Treat event for local families from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds Expo Lawn. 

Please pre-register your trunk! It's free!  Be creative! Student groups, community organizations, sports teams, churches, businesses, individuals - all are welcome to participate!

• Be prepared with candy for approximately 1500 children – Please buy SMALL candies or trinkets - not fun size and give one small piece is fine.
• Vehicles can be decorated to advertise a business/organization or just in Halloween fun!  Games or activities are welcome!
  
• All decorations MUST be in good taste – NO blood and gore.  If in doubt, don’t use it.
• Registered vehicles may arrive starting at 2:30 p.m. All vehicles must be decorated by 4:00 p.m.
• The event will begin at 4:30 p.m. and end at 6:00 p.m. and all vehicles must stay in place until the end of the event. Please do not leave early!

2025 Build a Stuffy Workshop 12/9 - Winter 2025

Join us for Build a Stuffy Workshop for kids from 2 - 6 years of age and their adult!  The workshop will be held on Tuesday, December 9 from 5:15 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the King City Recreation Center.

Come build your own holiday stuffed animal and enjoy hot chocolate and a sweet treat.  Please look at the stuffys on the flier - from left to right it's Brown Reindeer, Husky, Puppy, White Reindeer, Bear and Snow Monster.  Select your stuffy at registration and it will be waiting for you to put together and take home.
